Pinch from Rogerseller

Pinch Basin set.

WALKING INTO the Rogerseller showroom in Richmond, Victoria, is like walking into bathroom heaven. Filled with beautiful freestanding baths, sleek basins and a myriad of showers and toilets, all with must-have accessories, this is the place for you if you’ve ever lusted after glamorous bathroomware.

Last week, however, Jan Henderson was on a mission to discover the newest product in the Rogerseller range and talk to its designer. There are a few things that make this product stand-out – not least the fact that James Edmonds, the managing director of Rogerseller, was the designer.

Launched this month, the product itself is beautifully resolved in both form and function. Named Pinch, the tap looks as if it has truly been pinched to form its shape. It fits snugly in the fingers and the turning action is so smooth the movement is barely discernable. Edmonds is justifiably proud of Pinch – a product that took a mere twenty-six months to develop from concept to on sale in store. This is a minor miracle in the world of design where these things normally take years. It’s all about the flange with an incredibly slim depth. It seems to almost sit flush with the basin or bench. The softer lines of the tap are complimented by a perfect chrome finish, which can really be appreciated when compared to other chromed objects.

Every step of the manufacturing process was overseen by Edmonds and only perfect workmanship was accepted. Pinch has a great future ahead and Rogerseller has another winner on, or should we say in, its hands.

The Pinch tap is now available through Rogerseller.
