Boral Timber brings warmth to architect’s family home

Boral timber in Sarah Waller's Sunshine Coast home.

ENGLISH ARCHITECT Sarah Waller chose Boral timber floors for her new family home on the Sunshine Coast for its warm, soft appearance and feel and because it is easy to clean.

Sarah Waller moved her family to the Sunshine Coast seven years ago after purchasing The Anchorage. She then set about creating a stunning family home by the water while renting a house down the road.

216 square metres of Boral 19mm solid strip flooring in Australian Beech features throughout the open plan, two-storey house. Australian Beech was chosen for its unique colour and variation of hues. On the stair treads Waller used Spotted Gum for its width and hard nature. The timber floor was installed over a plywood covered concrete slab on the ground floor and on particle board on the first floor.

The floor was installed by Specialist Timber Floor Installations from Buderim, Queensland.
