Urbis brings design to New Zealand Fashion Week

FROCKS WON'T be the only design pieces on show at upcoming New Zealand Fashion Week. Urbis has been invited to design the interior of the VIP room, which means that we'll be choosing some of the most elegant and interesting pieces of furniture to tempt frazzled fashionistas to take a seat. The stilletos will probably help our cause.

Working with Studio Italia, Urbis will be crafting a unique and intimate lounge area for media and fashion stars. The room, co-hosted by GHD and MAC cosmetics, will have hair stylists and makeup artists working throughout the day to gives guests touch ups and a moment of pampering before racing out to another show.

While this all sounds a bit frothy, the Urbis team will be interviewing designers and taking a close look at intricacies of cut and form in our ongoing interest in the craft and design of fashion, more than transitory trends. All the Fashion Week coverage will be in the December issue of Urbis.
